Tech giant Microsoft is set to expand its share of the tablet market, thanks to a bigger appetite among users for “detachable” devices -- laptops with monitors that can be removed to function as tablets.
A series of PCs built specifically for use with virtual reality (VR) applications will be available soon, but mostly just for deep-pocketed early adopters. The Oculus-ready PCs will sell for $1,499 to more than $3,000.
Chipmaker AMD is betting on thermal solutions with its latest round of processors. AMD just rolled out the flagship AMD Wraith Cooler, the AMD A10-7860K, and the AMD Athlon X4 845 desktop processors.
PC maker Vaio just took the covers off two new machines: the Vaio Z and the Vaio S. But some industry watchers are concerned the price is too high for the appetites of most business users.
