Japanese electronics giant Sony is unveiling a slimmer, lighter, cheaper version of its PlayStation 4, as well as a Pro device targeted at hardcore gamers that features high-resolution images.
No groundbreaking products, no last-minute surprises and nothing the rumor mill hadn't already predicted. But what Apple did announce was enough to tide over investors and consumers.
When the Sony Walkman went on sale in 1979, music was stored on a cassette tape, power came from AA batteries and sound traveled through headphones plugged into a 3.5-mm audio jack.
Unveiled at Apple's special event in San Francisco, the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can be ordered starting Sept. 9, and are set to hit the market on Sept. 16. They use Apple's Lightning connector for audio.
