Zenius Solutions enables iPhone with NFC payment…now

SILICON VALLEY, November 12, 2009 -- Zenius Solutions, a leading NFC software company, today announced an NFC credit card payment solution for the iPhone. Retrofitted iPhones can immediately conduct secure Relevant Products/Services Contactless wave-and-pay transactions for Mastercard PayPass, Visa payWave, American Express ExpressPay and Discover Network Zip. The solution surpasses other NFC offerings by providing control to the user from a menu on the iPhone handset screen, as well as support for multiple applications.

Whereas most current NFC options don't allow the consumer to have any control, the Zenius solution integrates a mobile wallet menu on the iPhone, allowing a consumer to choose from a PIN-secured suite of applications such as credit cards, subway tickets, and coupons. The Zenius-enabled product is added seamlessly to the phone, and no jailbreaking or unlocking is required.

"The technology world is converging on the mobile phone, and the iPhone is one of the best examples of convergence in the market today. Zenius adds to the feature-rich iPhone by enabling one very valuable function that the device does not yet support – proximity payment," says John Wiese, CEO of Zenius Solutions.

With this solution, Zenius is breaking an impasse that the NFC industry has faced for years - the lack of interactive Relevant Products/Services NFC-enabled mobile phones. The technology is not a prototype - it is available for immediate deployment Relevant Products/Services. This solution provides the substantial iPhone installed user base with the ability to pay at any currently-deployed Contactless point-of-sale terminal.

This add-on with integrated Zenius software opens new revenue streams for card issuers, Mobile Network Operators (MNO), Trusted Service Managers (TSM), merchants, and numerous closed-loop solution providers. The Zenius software design ensures that multiple menu items will be interoperable and compatible. "One day very soon, you won't even need a wallet when you leave home," adds Wiese.

The iPhone functionality is also available on additional GSM handsets. A complete list of phones is available from Zenius. In addition, Zenius is working on a suite of secure closed-loop applications such as gift cards, private payment, loyalty cards, identity, coupons, transportation, ticketing, and more.

Zenius will be demonstrating the technology at Cartes in Paris November 17-19. For more information, or to schedule a meeting, please contact Zenius Solutions at info@zeniussolutions.com.
