Kindle Fire HD, Google Nexus 7 or Apple iPad?

Kindle Fire HD, Google Nexus 7 or Apple iPad?

With Amazon's Kindle Fire HD at a "$200 price point or even the $300 price point, it's really tough to compete with a hardware-maker who is not trying to make money. If you are selling Android tablets or Microsoft Windows RT tablets, you have to offer a value proposition so consumers are willing to pay more for it," said analyst Avi Greengart.

CommVault is a data and information management software company dedicated to providing organizations worldwide with a radically better way to manage data and information. Their unique Solving Forward philosophy allows them to deliver complete solutions with infinite scalability and unprecedented control over data and costs. Despite all the hubbub around the iPhone 5, the buzz is still going strong around the Kindle Fire HD. And for good reason: One of the most advanced 7-inch tablets on the market is only $199.

Just to review, $199 gets you a 7-inch tablet Relevant Products/Services with an HD display, Wi-Fi Relevant Products/Services, Dolby audio, a powerful processor and graphics engine, and 16 GB of storage. Add $100 and you get all of that in an 8.9-inch form factor. And $499 gets you the same large-screen HD tablet with 32 GB of storage, plus 4G Relevant Products/Services LTE Relevant Products/Services wireless Relevant Products/Services.

"For a lot of people who are cash-constrained, the Kindle Fire HD is going to seem like a compelling offering," Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis, told us.

"If you have $500 in your pocket and you are looking for a tablet, Apple's ecosystem and user interface and the sheer versatility of the things you can do with an iPad easily justify spending more. But if you are on a budget or already have a tablet and are looking for another one for media consumption, Amazon Relevant Products/Services has a lot of content and is selling the hardware for pretty much at or below cost."

The Value Proposition

Despite the comparison to Apple, Greengart said the Kindle Fire HD family is less of a competitive challenge to Apple than it is to other tablet makers in the industry. He suggests focusing on two factors when choosing a tablet: price and content.

"At a $200 price point or even the $300 price point, it's really tough to compete with a hardware-maker who is not trying to make money. If you are selling Android Relevant Products/Services tablets or Microsoft Relevant Products/Services Windows RT tablets, you have to offer a value proposition so consumers are willing to pay more for it," Greengart said. "Apple has accomplished that feat but I am not sure anyone else has."

What about Google's own Nexus 7? The Nexus 7 was introduced in June and targets would-be Kindle customers. The Nexus 7 is a 7-inch HD tablet powered by a Tegra 3 chipset, with a quad-core CPU and 12-core GPU. The tablet weighs 12 ounces, lighter than most tablets on the market. The Nexus 7 retails at $199 and has been selling strong. (continued...)

I considered the Kindle HD, and the Nexus 7 but then found another new model that actually has better features than both - and is only $189 and offers a quality build - it's the Novo 7 Flame by Ainol Electronics and you can buy it in the United States through TabletSprint.Com - it includes the same type of high quality screen, a Micro-SD slot, Full HDMI 1080p HD (the Kindle only offers 720p) and two cameras - a 2 MegaPixel front Webcam and a high quality 5 MegaPixel rear cam for Photos/Video with Auto Focus & Flash - it also offers an option for 3G through a GSM carrier... T-Mobile and AT&T.

I'm wondering if you buy a Google Nexus 7, do you have to pay more for a Google GrooVe app or account to be able to access a lot of the google apps?
